Melbourne Port Project - This project involved the development
of a strategy to identify confirmed and potentially contaminated
sites across almost 100 sites and 500 hectares in the Port of
Melbourne. Cost estimates were made of the potential environmental
liabilities faced by the Corporation. This included a financial
risk assessment.
Knights Slipway Project - The Department of Treasury and
Finance engaged Peter J Ramsay & Associates in December 2000 to
remediate significant contamination at the former Knights Slipway
in Williamstown. The need for remediation was determined following
a series of investigations at the site for soil and groundwater
contamination. The investigations identified significant heavy
metal, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination in soil and elevated levels of these contaminants and
ammonia in the groundwater.
