World Environment Day 2025: Confronting Plastic Pollution
This World Environment Day, we're diving deeper into one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time: plastic pollution. We’re unpacking 10 of the most pressing questions, from how much plastic is actually out there, to what meaningful actions individuals, businesses and governments can take to address it.
Plastic pollution is far more than a waste management issue. It’s a complex, systemic challenge that intersects with climate change, public health, and biodiversity loss. Microplastics are now found in our oceans, our soil, and even in the food we eat and the air we breathe.
We believe the path forward begins by rethinking how we design, produce, and manage materials. Addressing plastic pollution requires not only better recycling systems, but also upstream innovation, reducing unnecessary plastic use, substituting more sustainable materials and designing products and systems that minimise waste from the outset.
As environmental consultants, we work with clients across sectors to:
♻️ Assess material usage and environmental impact
🚯 Identify waste reduction and circular economy opportunities
🌱 Transition toward more sustainable, low-impact practices
Tackling plastic pollution is a shared responsibility and it starts with knowledge. With the right strategies, innovation and commitment, we can turn the tide and build a more sustainable future - one decision, one material, and one system at a time.
